On the way to the European Heritage Label

11 June 2024:

City of Paderborn presents itself on the occasion of the Day of Gardens and Parks with an information stand on the EKS

In beautiful weather, the team working on the application for the European Heritage Label (EHL) provided information to all interested parties at a stand in the Paderquell area. On the occasion of the Day of Gardens and Parks on Saturday, visitors could not only browse through the new brochure on the application and ask questions about the project, but also spin the wheel of fortune and get a delicious coffee from the coffee bike next door.

But not only the project "City. People. River." project, but also the two parks, the Western Paderquellgebiet garden monument below the Abdinghof and the Geisselsche Garten. A total of four guided tours were offered on their reconstruction plans following the tornado in May 2022, providing information on the two parks and insights into the ongoing planning processes.

„We are delighted that Dr Dorothee Boesler, Head of Urban Planning and Landscape Culture at Landschaftsverband-Westfalen Lippe, accompanied the guided tours in the Paderquell area throughout the day. It shows how important our parks are in the entire Westphalia-Lippe region," emphasises Jessica Schütte, Head of the Office for Environmental Protection and Green Spaces.
