13 December 2024:
An exhibition on the Pader
28.6.-5.10.2025
The exhibition ‘The river is me’ is the third exhibition in the ‘Crime Scene Paderborn’ series. It is dedicated to the river Pader and its special significance for the city. The artworks are created along the river, which rises from around 200 springs in the centre of Paderborn. After just 4.6 kilometres, it flows into the Lippe - making the Pader the shortest river in Germany and flowing through just one city.
Based on this uniqueness, the exhibition poses the following questions: What role does the Pader play for Paderborn? What would it be like to regard the river as an equal inhabitant of the city? What new perspectives arise when the river is seen not just as a natural phenomenon but as part of urban life? By combining art and nature, the exhibition opens up unusual perspectives on the interplay between the city and the river. In addition to a varied accompanying programme guided walks and cycle tours are offered.
