‘I am the river – an exhibition on the Pader’ in the home stretch

2 October 2025:

The 100 days of the Tatort Paderborn 2025 exhibition come to an end on 5 October. The artworks have been on display and available to experience in public spaces since the end of June, and numerous events and activities have accompanied the exhibition. As the exhibition draws to a close, there are still a wide variety of events to come, including workshops, talks, guided tours, activities and a few last opportunities.

From 2 to 5 October, young people with and without disabilities between the ages of 10 and 14 will have the opportunity to create Pader worlds in 3D in the free workshop ‘Water Worlds: The Pader Tells_The Sound of the Pader from Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow’. They will work with their own drawings, which will be photographed and digitally enhanced. With the help of apps and 3D tools, walk-in rooms are created – from lines, surfaces and ideas. The scenes are supplemented by texts, sounds or moving objects. Registrations for the extended workshop weekend are still possible by sending an informal email to kollektivnexus@gmail.com. The workshops will take place at the Kunstmuseum im Marstall in Schloß Neuhaus.

On the last Saturday of the exhibition (4 October), guided tours will once again be offered, both by bike (3 p.m., starting at the Paderborn City Museum, approx. 2 hours) and as a guided walk (1 p.m., starting at the Paderborn City Museum, approx. 3 hours). Paderborn artist Manfred Webel will be on site again on this day between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. with hands-on activities and for discussions at his artwork ‘be Pader, my friend’ on the Dielenpader. At 8 p.m., this contribution will bid farewell with a ‘bubbles glow’.

Artist Daniela Brasil will also be on site on the final Sunday, 5 October. ‘When the Pader rains, dive into the clouds’ features a nest made of willow, some of which was harvested from the Pader. Starting at 1 p.m., this woven composition will be dismantled collectively and transformed into mementos. In a procession (starting at 3 p.m.), these will then be returned to the Pader and installed in the floodplain. Spectators and participants are welcome. Admission is free.

The participating museums will also close their exhibitions at 6 p.m. this Sunday, and at 6:05 p.m. the artist Inga Krüger will present her performance ‘Permanent offene Hose’ (Permanently Open Trousers) for the last time in the reading garden of the city library (sponsored by the Kultursekretariat NRW Gütersloh), thus closing the exhibition.

The exhibition catalogue will be available at the municipal museums and galleries from 5 November.

All dates and information can be found at www.tatort-paderborn.de.
