10 September 2024:
This past Saturday our project City.People.River. presented itself at the Inner-City-Camp at the Theodorianum grammar school yard. Considering the question “What should the town centre of the future look like?”, citizens were encouraged to unitedly build a model of their city of the future and, at several stations, share their wishes, notes, ideas and projects regarding different parts of the inner city with expert planners.
“After the adoption of memorandum Innenstadt we now want to go a step further and involve the citizens as well as the inner-city stakeholders even more extensively in the development of the town centre”, says Claudia Warnecke, executive director of urban development departments and project management at the City of Paderborn. The memorandum identified three central fields of action for inner-city development, which are to be detailed with the help of the Inner-City-Camp.
Together with interested citizens the city administration wants to evaluate the visions of the memorandum and collect projects in the public space which bring Paderborn’s town centre closer to the goals mentioned in the memorandum.
