Trees for the Pader headwaters

7 April 2026:

The trees to be planted in spring 2026 in the western Pader headwaters area below Abdinghof Church come from Berlin-Brandenburg. There are around 75 stately specimens, which will soon help people forget that a tornado severely damaged this historic garden monument here in May 2022. Staff from the landscaping firm Köster in Delbrück are on site with heavy machinery and will spend 18 months planting trees, resurfacing paths and installing play facilities. They are well on schedule, so the people of Paderborn will soon be able to find a shady spot in their city park again.

And the wildlife? A few ducks and moorhens are not put off by the hoardings and continue to bathe in the spring-fed ponds.
