What water can do

10 February 2026:
Water flows, bubbles, streams—and is full of secrets. From Monday, February 16, to Saturday, February 28, the Südring Center in Paderborn will be transformed into an interactive world of discovery centered around what is arguably the most important element on the planet: water.
Entitled “What water can do.” visitors can expect an exhibition that not only inspires, but also invites them to participate, marvel, and understand. It quickly becomes clear that this exhibition is no quiet gallery – here, movement, curiosity, and a spirit of discovery reign supreme.
“Science on Tour,” known for its experience-oriented formats, has developed an exciting concept that combines research and fascination in a unique way. The focus is on interactive exhibits that allow visitors to experience the physical properties of water – without any complicated explanations.
The exhibition is supported by numerous local institutions that enrich the topic of water from their own perspectives. These include the Paderborn Municipal Drainage Company (STEB), the Paderborn Waterworks, the City of Paderborn, the Wasser^plus OWL network, the Microbubbles company, and many other exciting companies.
We will be there for you on February 18 and 25 from 10 a.m. onwards and look forward to talking to you in person. In addition, our program managers, Brigitte Zacharias and Dr. Michael Ströhmer, will be presenting our project on site on both days at 6 p.m.
All interested parties are invited to come and discover this exhibition and the exciting offerings of the local partners.
